Yes, call me a geek, a nerd, a techno. I love new technology. I’m all over facebook (Moore’s Common Core), twitter (DarlaSays), and Pinterest (Darla Moore). My latest obsession is Scoop.It. Instead of collecting images like Pinterest, you are actually curating collections of articles. For example, my one tab is just my collection of articles on CCSS and other school news. Since I love books, another tab is just my collection of book related reviews and news. It is sort of like creating your own magazine.
Pretty cool, huh?
But wait, there’s more!
Let’s say, like me, you are interested in CCSS stuff. It will realize what you are collecting and make suggestions to you. “If you like that article, you may also like this.” Quickly you can build a collections on any topic.
Fun for us! Now think of students!
Let’s say they are doing a report on Bigfoot. Using Scoop.it , they could collect their articles, should you their collections and get the most up-to-date news on the topic from the suggestions. There is even a downloadable bookmark tool.
