Elections for Kids

With 2012 campaign season in full swing, we have a responsibility to educate our students on the presidential election and the voting process.
Kids have lots of questions about the campaign and election process.
I have researched various websites, apps, and educational tools to teach students about the election process.
One such website I recently discovered is kidsvotingusa.org. The website has various curriculum ideas and lessons for all grade levels. Each month focuses on a specific theme and skill.
I really enjoyed browsing the website and deciding how to incorporate the curriculum ideas into my classes.
I’ll highlight other websites and apps throughout the month.
What tools do you use to teach about the election and campaign season? Please share in the comments.

  1. Thank you for this! I am a student teacher working on a unit revolving around the Presidential Election for second graders and this is very helpful.
